The Redbird TD2
The TD2 is FAA approved as a ‘Basic Aviation Training Device’ that simulates a generic single engine piston aircraft. It can be selected to normal or high performance. It also has complex options: retractable landing gear and/or constant speed propeller.
Weather conditions can be selected: day or night; VFR or IFR; and various visibility selections. (Zero visibility can be toggled on and off during flight.)
Up to 2.5 hours of flight training experience can be logged towards Private Pilot (with CFI).
Up to 10 hours of simulated IMC training can be logged towards Instrument Rating (with CFI).
Instrument rated pilots can log simulator time to maintain currency.
